Visitors Center, Packwood House
Category
New Build 440m
Location
Packwood House, Warwickshire
Client
National Trust
Description
I designed and oversaw the construction of a new visitor’s centre for the National Trust. The centre contains a reception and retail area; a restaurant and kitchen.
The building is located on a highly sensitive site, nestled between listed buildings and listed parkland. Externally the centre is traditionally detailed, whilst in contrast the internal spaces are bright and modern.
Throughout the design process detailed negotiations were undertaken with the National Trust, English Heritage and the Planning Authority.
Contract value £1.4m.
