The Toll House

Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire

Client Stratford Building Preservation Trust

This high profile redundant grade I listed Toll House is located on the main town bridge. Its refurbishment and alterations have brought a new interest and vitality to the building, whilst securing its future.

The £500k project works were awarded significant grant aid. Detailed design works have been agreed with the Trust, Historic England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Mark Evans’ extensive experience in the sensitive adaptation of historic buildings has resulted in a sympathetic and complementary design scheme.

The success of the project relied upon careful analysis of the client’s needs and how these could be imaginatively weaved together with the building’s uses.

"Mark has provided excellent architectural services to the Stratford Historic Buildings Trust, he is responsive to client requirements, understands the importance of historic heritage and interprets his brief with flair and imagination."
